It was midnight February 2021 when one of my friends Nasrudin Hikam who used to tell me training opportunities and The Next Economy (TNE) Program before, as an alumni of TNE program partnered SOS and Iftin Foundation, he shared me the link of Expression of Interest (EOI) advertised by SOS and told me to apply this crucial and life changing training Opportunity also gave me some tricks and guidance to do so.
He urged me to apply take this opportunity by coming a member of the third batch of TNE students Partnered SOS and Irisehub. After a few days, the fact that my application was accepted seemed to me a miracle. I received an email that changed my life; it was a joyful moment that I have become one of the students who passed the interview. It was a great pleasure to be one of the selectees among more than 800 applicants.
April was the beginning of life change, we started the core life skills sessions, the class was very interesting, every week we were learning many things that changed in our lives a lot. I am very glad to have completed the six-months training course, earned certificate achievement and Entrepreneurship skills from the next economy, SOS and Irisehub.
First, I would like to thank Allah SW for allowing me to complete a six- months training course in health and safety. Second, I also would like to thank the entire next economy team led by Mr. Farhan Dirie and Mrs. Naima Abdi, for their guidance during the training program, as well as the Training of Trainees (TOTs) whose support will never forget, and everyone who supported us during the training program.
Also I want to mention the unforgettable role of Irisehub team for their tireless efforts for The Entrepreneurship training, it was not only training but brainstorming that gave us a business mindset for those team Included but not limited: MR Abdifatah Ali and Bishar Mohamud they also was the tool and power behind our Entrepreneurship skills training they guided us and gave us the basic and advanced skills that can Entrepreneur needs, No words can describe but I would to appreciate more than Million times.
TNE Program mostly focused on the employability and entrepreneurship tracks; vividly the project strengthens student’s thinking capability, networking, communication, and interpersonal skills. Moreover, it gives another opportunity that they can practice what they have learned during the program. Such as internships, decent jobs, and other platforms to display their innovation, creativity, critical thinking and so on.
I can say that this training was a very high-level training for young people studying in universities and graduates who have no or limited working skills, When students get their first degree, they don’t have a clear vision of the labor market because they don’t have any experience, so the program intended to fill the gap.
On the first day of the program, I met few friends and mentors that I never met before, Every one of us is full of potential skills and creativity, it’s important to be aware of our strengths and challenges, most of us doesn’t known before what he/her strengths and weakness are, but we gained allot During the training program, If I provide some insights into the training program, we have learned several skills including; Communication skills, problem-solving, critical things, Entrepreneurship and business management skills and confidence.
During the training program, we also learned how to brainstorm our minds about the problems in the community and then to find the best possible solutions, the training covered how to conduct market research to find any business opportunities and how to apply SWOT analysis to adopt feasibility studies, to find the gap that exists in the markets and which business that the community needs. In fact, we must bring the businesses that society requires and then make a presentation to some of our students and experts who are trainees, during which we defend our market studies and occasionally ask questions about them.
TNE and SOS are always support young people who are new in the labor market, also equal opportunity for whom interested, I would like to recommend my fellow young graduates out there to keep in mind this program will help them and encourage to look forward the next applications, that will give them best suitable skills that employers need, also whose intention is to be employer you will come up with a business ideas and provide fundraising opportunities. TNE team are putting an effort to support the inexperienced Somali youth in learning how to be entrepreneurs and how to get an internship program that helps them to be self-sufficient.
Finally, I would like to say thanks to the team and Next Economy for providing this opportunity, also would like to appreciate my Brother one of my role models Nasrudin Hikam who always support me to be the best, his motivations always trigger me to reshape prosperous future I wish him long life with happiness, I congratulate to my entire cohort mate a million times. Congratulations having such good time and I hope we`ll double our efforts to change action what we gained from TNE Program.
